We are very proud to share that Nottingham College has been named a national finalist in the AoC Beacon Awards in the Sustainable Development category.
Andrew Comyn, Deputy Chief Executive & Chief Financial Officer; Matt Bunn, Sustainability Lead; and Liz Morley, Wilding Campuses Manager, attended a presentation at the House of Commons last month, where they received a certificate recognising the college’s achievements. The occasion marked a proud moment for the college and highlighted the significant progress we are making in sustainability across the organisation.
This national recognition, alongside the Green Gown Sustainability Institution of the Year Award received recently, reflects the innovative and ambitious work happening across the college to embed sustainability and environmental stewardship into our teaching, operations and overall student experience. From reducing our carbon footprint to integrating green skills into the curriculum, we are committed to preparing our students for a future where sustainability sits at the heart of every industry.
Andrew Comyn said:
“Reaching the final three colleges across the whole of the UK is a huge achievement and national recognition that we are extremely proud of. It is testament to the dedication and hard work of colleagues across the college who continually champion environmental responsibility and inspire the next generation to make a difference.
“Collectively, we are making great progress towards our ambitious goal of becoming carbon net zero by 2030. This accolade, alongside our Green Gown Award win last November, is a fantastic celebration of how far we’ve come and the impact we’re making.”
