Our annual Graduation ceremony has returned to Nottingham’s Albert Hall! We celebrated the achievements of our graduates with almost 500 attendees as well as their tutors, Chief Executive and Principal Janet Smith, our Leadership Team and Governors.
The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Carole McCulloch and the Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council, Councillor Richard Butler, Sarah Speight from Nottingham Trent University, Nina Gunthorpe from The Open University and Louise Coleman from Pearson, as well as our Chair of Governors Carole Thorogood BEM, all joined us to celebrate the prestigious event.
The ceremony opened with a procession led by Nottingham College Chief Executive and Principal, Janet Smith. She said:
I was delighted to attend the Graduation ceremony and have the opportunity to celebrate our students’ achievements. I’m so proud of each and every one of our students, and I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
Our Higher Education provision at Nottingham College is outstanding, and I am incredibly proud of what we offer. Our mission is to ensure that access to higher education is broad and inclusive, enabling everyone who chooses an academic path to benefit from our range of courses.

Among those who graduated, seven individuals were awarded the title of Graduate of the Year for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Achievement.

I've always had a passion and a drive for the way things work and are put together.

The college is really supportive, I wouldn’t be half of where I am now without the tutors on my course. They’ve really helped me and my experience has been so beneficial.

Congratulations to all our graduates!
During the ceremony’s interval, we also had a musical performance from one of our very own Level 3 Musical Theatre and Performing Arts students. Lily-Mae Evans, performed “Walking on Sunshine”, the performance was brilliant and showcased some of the talent our students have.
