Nineteen-year-old Archie has been recognised for his dedication, progress, and performance by winning the coveted EEA Apprentice of the Year award, which recognises outstanding individuals that excel during their apprenticeship or training in the field of energy efficiency.

To be in the running for this honour, Archie, who is just 6 months into his apprenticeship, was required to showcase a portfolio of his work over the past year to the Energy Efficiency Awards (EEA). He also submitted a written piece detailing his role, achievements, and the company he works for.

After making it through to the next stage, Archie provided additional materials, including photos and videos, demonstrating the quality and impact of his work. The EEA judging panel was thoroughly impressed by Archie’s professional growth, his drive to improve team efficiency, the innovative changes he’s introduced, and his consistently positive attitude.

To be considered for this role, judges assess what the nominee learned, where the nominee has excelled in aptitude, the nominees work ethic, their attitude to their studies and toward learning new skills, and awareness of how their new skills can benefit the community.

Archie said: “Out of the 5000+ regional apprentices that participated in getting this award, I was luckily the one who fell in 1st place. I was even given a trophy with my name on, and I was also given a plaque that stated my achievements. I am eternally grateful to have been presented with this opportunity by the company where I work.”

Tina Chapman, Learning and Skills trainer for electrical apprenticeships said: “Archie has settled in exceptionally well at college and has quickly become a valued member of his group. While the theory side of the course can be challenging at times, Archie consistently puts in 100% effort across all his coursework and exams. His dedication, punctuality, and outstanding attendance reflect his commitment to his studies and the apprenticeship.

“Well done on receiving this well-deserved award, Archie!”
