We’re proud to share that Senior Careers and Schools Team Leader, Taniqua Wint, was shortlisted for the Future Leader category at the prestigious Ethnicity Awards 2025 held in London this October.
The Future Leader award recognises individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds who are in the early to mid stages of their careers and are already demonstrating outstanding leadership potential. Nominees are celebrated for their commitment to inclusion, diversity, and belonging — qualities that Taniqua embodies wholeheartedly.

Although she didn’t take home the top prize, Taniqua received a “Highly Commended” mention on the evening, a testament to the impact she’s making in her field and beyond.
Taniqua’s work spans far beyond the classroom. She’s a recognised leader in widening participation, empowering ethnic minority youth to see themselves not just in the room, but at the head of the table — confident, capable, and unapologetically themselves. Her additional roles as Enterprise Advisor, Apprenticeship Ambassador, and Outreach Co-Lead for the Black Professionals Employee Resource Group (ERG) have seen her lead transformative outreach initiatives, including:
- NTU Rise programme (three years running)
- Teacher Encounters with the East Midlands County Combined Authority
- Collaborations with schools, charities, and colleges across the region
Feeling extremely honoured, Taniqua said: “It felt amazing to be shortlisted for this award and recognised as a future leader. I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition as part of a team for the work we did in the early careers space, but this is the first time I’ve been recognised individually.
“I took on a lot of additional roles outside of my main day to day job and put a lot of work into many initiatives and most of what I do is driven by the impact it creates, so to have that acknowledged in this way is great.
“I didn’t expect to be nominated, and I definitely never expected to be at an award ceremony alongside celebrities. It was a real honour to be alongside so many inspiring nominees who are doing such great things, and the fact that it was around ethnicity made it that much more special as I was able to celebrate this achievement in a room full of people who look like me during Black History Month.
“I'm used to being the one writing the nominations for the young people I support and putting forward evidence for them to be recognised. I also received a special shoutout from the judges which I really appreciated and again didn't expect. It makes me feel very proud of my career so far. Now, stepping into a leadership role, this recognition motivates me even more to continue driving positive change and supporting others.”
