More than 3,000 of our students received their GCSE results today (Thursday 21st August), following months of dedicated study across both part-time and full-time programmes.
Our students GCSE results have showcased the wide range of students who choose to study at the college. Among them are adult learners returning to education to gain qualifications for work or further study, under-16s who have been home-schooled, and 16–18-year-olds aiming to improve their grades to move on to higher-level courses or employment. Many students have also taken GCSEs alongside vocational programmes, balancing multiple areas of study to achieve their goals.
Jakin Nganga, 18, is celebrating today after securing the grades he needs to begin his A Levels at High Pavement this September. With aspirations to study law at university and pursue a career as a lawyer, Jakin is one step closer to his dream. He achieved an impressive set of results: a 9 in History, 8 in English Language, 7 in Maths, and 6 in Psychology.
Reflecting on his success, Jakin said:
“I’m so excited to get these results. I was really nervous beforehand, but when I saw my grades, I felt so relieved. I’m so happy!”
Sixteen-year-old Nayema Sallome-Miller is also celebrating today after achieving a 5 in Chemistry, 4 in English Language, and 4 in Maths. She’ll be returning in September to take additional GCSEs, with plans to progress to A Levels at High Pavement next year.
Looking ahead to her future, Nayema said:
“I’m feeling really good about my results. High Pavement is a great place to study - it’s more relaxed than school, and the teachers are very supportive. I want to go to university eventually, and these results are helping me take the first steps toward that goal.”
Our High Pavement campus is a high-achieving GCSE provision for 14–18-year-olds, known for its strong sense of community and commitment to student success. This year’s results reflect the resilience and hard work of students who have embraced challenges and made the most of their opportunities.
Many students will now move on to Level 3 courses, apprenticeships, training, or employment, well-prepared for their next steps. Chris Allright, Nottingham College Assistant Head of Full-Time GCSEs 14-18, said:
"Today is a special day in the academic calendar for our students, many of whom are continuing their journey with us.
“We are proud of every single one of our students. Their results reflect not just their academic effort but the personal growth they have shown during their time with us. They leave us with qualifications, but also with the life skills and confidence to continue achieving long into the future.”
