Course introduction

This course is perfect if you want to develop your understanding of the principles of working within the tourism and aviation sector and to pursue a career in the travel, tourism and aviation industry.

You will learn: 

9 units selected by lecturers from an extensive list. Examples may include: 

  • Unit 04: Travel and tourism destinations
  • Unit 10: The UK conference and event industry
  • Unit 11: Marketing for travel and tourism
  • Unit 13: Resort representative roles and responsibilities
  • Unit 16: Worldwide passenger airlines
  • Unit 17: The cruise industry
  • Unit 24: Flight Operations
  • Unit 25: Airport Terminal Operations
  • Unit 27: Commercial operations of airports and airlines 

You can expect visits to East Midlands Airport and guest speakers. We will also help you to gain valuable experience by taking part in the job fair which provides a real insight into the industry.

NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism with Aviation Pathway

You will need to have completed the Introductory Diploma in Travel and Tourism with Aviation Pathway and have 5 GCSE grades at 4 or above including English Language and Maths 

You’ll complete scenario-based assessments, written assignments, practical role plays and presentations.

You could choose to follow with further studies at Nottingham College onto the L4 HNC International Travel and Tourism Management or Level 4 HNC in Hospitality and Management. 

You could also pursue a career as an event organiser, travel agent or travel the world by gaining employment in the following career paths but not exclusive to: 

  • Air cabin crew
  • Airport ground staff
  • Airport/airline management 

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
