Thinking about your next steps after finishing GCSEs? T Levels could be a great option for you and we’re here to help you figure them out.

What is a T Level?

T Levels are the newest type of two-year qualification. They are equivalent to 3 A Levels and were designed with education providers and employers so they can get you ready for future jobs or education.

Who can study a T Level?

They are for students between the ages of 16 and 19, so perfect for students who have just finished their GCSEs.

How does studying a T Level work?

T Levels are split into classroom-based learning and work placement. You will be required to complete 45 days (315 hours) of work experience, making them an 80:20 split, classroom:work placement.

What’s the difference between a T Level, A Level and Apprenticeship?

A Levels are the more academic route, learning takes place in the classroom with very little to no work experience.

Apprenticeships are the more occupational route, 80% of learning is on the job and the other 20% is classroom based. You are also paid during an apprenticeship.

What are the entry requirements?

You would generally need to have 5 GCSES, grade 4/5 or above including maths and English. This does depend on the T Level you want to study so double check on the course page.

How do I arrange my work placement?

You can arrange your own work placement, whether you know someone who owns a business or know somewhere you would like to get industry experience. If you are struggling, you can speak to our dedicated work placements team who have a range of industry links across different fields.

What areas can I study a T Level in?

We offer 14 T Levels across 10 different subject areas. These include: Art and Design, Business and Accounts, Computing, IT and Esports, Early Years and Education, Engineering, Health and Social Care, Media, Digital and Photography, Motor vehicle.

Each of these courses have more specific courses within them.

What can I progress onto after a T Level?

T levels are designed to prepare you for your future. The work experience element can help prepare you for the world of work, whether that means finding a job or an apprenticeship.

The academic side can also provide you with the skills to go further into education.

This course gives you the UCAS points to allow you to study at university if that is a route you want to follow.
