Construction

If you want to play a part in shaping the world around you and would like the sense of achievement that follows, a career in construction could be for you.

A construction course at Nottingham College will give you the hands-on training you need for a variety of skilled trades. As one of the largest construction training providers in the Midlands, our courses are highly recommended by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

The practical choices you can choose from at Nottingham College include bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, groundworks, plastering, dry lining, plumbing, multi-skills and electrical training.

We have invested significantly in our facilities and students can benefit from industry-standard workshops.  You will also have the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment from the very best, as our lecturers have years of experience in industry.

With our well-established links with construction employers, there will be many possibilities for you to work on real projects. Our students and apprentices were part of the team building Nottingham’s tram system and they are involved in many other building projects around the city.

On top of all this, you will gain valuable work experience with industry partners and may even get the chance to take part in one of our well-established international work experience projects. You could even take part in competitions to show off the skills you’ve learned, which will of course all add to your CV!

Choosing a course with us will definitely lay down the foundations for a successful career in the construction industry.

Levels

We run courses from Entry Level right up to degree-level in some areas, so you can progress to the level that suits you and then into industry.
